Posted on September 27, 2017Summer is officially behind us and we are welcoming autumn! It's finally time to pull on our cozy sweaters, cradle our pumpkin spice lattes, and go leaf peeping. Mountainsides across the state have started to take on a golden, amber, and crimson glow as the foliage changes color for the season. Hop in the car to head north to take in the vibrant scenery before it's gone. A few ideas of things to do while you're in the area:
Drive the Enchanted CircleThe scenic byway is an 83-mile loop through mountains, canyons, valleys, gold-mining towns and more with Wheeler Peak, the highest point in New Mexico, at the center. The drive takes you through the towns of Taos, Angel Fire, Red River, Eagle Nest, and Questa.
OktoberfestRed River's annual celebration takes place October 6th-8th and features authentic German food and music, microbreweries, contests (yodeling, brat eating and more), and activities for kids. Admission is $5. More details at
redriver.orgFamily Photo ShootGet a Pinterest-worthy photo for this year's holiday cards using Mother Nature as your backdrop. Gather the family and designate a photographer (or use a tripod and a camera with a timer. The hard part will be choosing the best spot.
