In just over a month Red River Ski Area will be open for the season. We can barely contain our excitement as we prep to welcome our regular visitors and new faces to the Sitzmark shop and lodge. We're literally counting down to opening day and here's why:

Hey out-of-towners! It's only a beautiful, scenic, three hour drive from the Albuquerque International Sunport to Red River Ski Area. Well, three hours and three minutes to be exact but who's counting? Oh yeah, we are!

Red River kicks off the holiday season with two festive events during the opening weekend. Enjoy the annual lighting of the Christmas tree at Switch On the Holidays, as well as a very exciting Torchlight Parade followed by fireworks. It's the best time and place to kindle the holiday spirit.

Red River Ski Area is excited to debut their brand spankin' new chair lift, the Emerald Quad. Although lines and crowds aren't exactly standard in Red River, their new lift promises to decrease the likelihood even more, which means you get to ski more and wait less this season.
