Things to do In Red River for Kids
School bells across the Southwest have rung their final ring and kids are running free for the summer. Get them outdoors before boredom has a chance to sink in, and if it already has then we’ve got the cure. There’s so much to do in Red River this summer that there will never be a dull moment. At Red River Ski & Summer Area
Scenic Chairlift Rides
This is a must if you’re here in the summer. Take the whole family to the top of the mountain for amazing views, some hiking or even a round of Disc Golf. They even offer the Family Altitude Adjustment Pass which provides some savings for bigger families. $50 for two adults (ages 13 and older) and up to four children (ages 12 and under.)
Hidden Treasure Aerial Park
This ropes course offers three levels of difficulty, two zip lines, and a thrilling activity for the whole family, although this is more suited to older kids.
The Pioneer Flyer
This seated zip line flies passengers over the pond, over Pioneer Road and up to the tower on The Face.
Summer Mountain Tubing
It’s like snow tubing but without the snow! Scream your way down three tubing hills, one of which is the longest summer tubing hill the country at 800 feet long.
Ongoing Fun for Kids at the Red River Community House:
Boat Building & Races | Wednesdays & Saturdays @ 3:30 pm
Build a boat and race it down the Red River. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
S’mores & Storytelling | Tuesdays & Thursdays @ 6:00-7:00 pm
Enjoy smores and a special story. Great for the whole family.
Kid’s Nature Hour | Wednesdays @ 11:00 am
Acquaint youngsters age 5-12 with the wonders of nature through books, games and crafts.
Movies in the Mountains | Wednesdays @ 8:00-10:00 pm
Enjoy a family movies on the Community House lawn along with popcorn and drinks. Bring blankets and chairs.
Family Night | Thursdays Evenings @ 7:00 pm
The most popular event at the Community House. Line dancing, games and more.
Chill! | Fridays @ 8-10:00 pm
Got teens? Send them to THE event for ages 13-17 and enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. They’ll enjoy food, video games, music, ping pong, air hockey and more.
Games on the Lawn | Mondays and Fridays @ 2:00 pm
Bring the whole family to play games outside on the lawn. All ages welcome.
